BUS 202: Legal Environment of Business (3)
Prerequisite:
An introduction to legal principles and their
relationships to business organizations.
Representative topics include the constitutional authority to regulate business, consumer law, employment and labor relations
law, torts and crimes related to business, and
intellectual property. A substantial part of the
course covers contract law and commercial
paper. Cases from New York law are used
extensively to assist the students in understanding the everyday applications of the
law. (Offered every fall and spring semester.)

An introductory study of a specific topic within business. Intended for freshmen and sophomores, or for students with little or no background in business. The student may repeat the course, but not the topic. (Offered as needed.)

BUS 302: Advanced Business Law (3)
Prerequisite: BUS 202
This course explores,
among other things, bankruptcy, agency, real
and personal property, partnerships, corporations, sales, secured transactions, legal liability of accountants, and the Securities Acts of 1933 and 1934. Cases from New York law are used extensively to assist the student in understanding everyday applications of the law. This course is required for, but not restricted to, accounting majors and provides preparation, in part, for the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination (Law Part).

BUS 330: Operations and Production Management (3)

A study of current production theories and
practices. Topics to be studied include:
capacity planning, transportation modeling,
inventory control, facility location, product
design, time and motion studies, and scheduling. Emphasis is placed on problem solving,
solution techniques, and terminology.

BUS 410: Entrepreneurship (3)
Prerequisite: junior or senior standing business students.
This course unites business theory and practical application by means of the Keuka College wine project. The project allows students to practice entrepreneurship by managing their own for-profit microenterprise. The students, with supervision, will perform the functions of management, marketing, and accounting. Student entrepreneurs will be responsible for product development, procurement and supply, quality control, labeling, packaging, advertising and sales, ordering and distribution, and financial reporting for the project. spring.)

BUS 444: Strategic Management (3)
Prerequisite: Senior-standing.
This course introduces the student to the process by which strategic business decisions are made and implemented. It also incorporates prior functional course material in an integrated manner as a foundation for successful business management. Formal studies, casework, and a comprehensive term project are used to reinforce learning. This is the capstone course for all majors with the Division of Business and Management. (Offered every
