CMP 100: Instructional Technology Integration (1)
Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
Weekly seminars include technology evaluation, development of standard operating procedures for implementation, and basic troubleshooting of instructional/educational technology. Students will participate in practical, supervised work as technology fellows assisting faculty and students with implementing technology. Course also helps students improve their own technology skills and
knowledge.

CMP 225: Introduction to Databases (3)
Prerequisite: Pre- or corequisite: CMP 120.
An overview of database systems. The hierarchical network and relational data models will be studied. Topics covered will include the principles of good database design, file and system structure, file organization and access techniques, query and update languages, data security and integrity. Databases with different applications will be studied including a general purpose database (currently Access), gradebook database (ex. SASI), accounting database (ex. Quickbook), reservation database (ex. DPMS), and travel agents database (ex. Sabre). (Offered every odd fall semester.)

CMP 265: Computer Visual Design (3)
Prerequisite: CMP 120
Suggested prerequisite: ART 205. Introduction and study of the principles of traditional visual design, 2D and 3D computer animation, and computer modeling and rendering. Concepts include color theory, shading, lighting, and keyframes.

CMP 335: Webpage Design (3)
Prerequisite: Pre- or corequisite: CMP 265.
This course teaches students the basics of designing a Web site. Topics include: an overview of Web design concepts, including usability, accessibility, information design, and graphic design in the context of the Web. Introduction to Web site software including an introduction to Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), and current Web page design software, currently Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver. (Offered every odd spring semester.)

CMP 375: Advanced Computer Application Integration (3)
Prerequisite: Pre- or corequisite: CMP 335
Integration of advanced features of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, graphic imaging, and Web design. Complex projects focusing on using the appropriate combination of tools for effective problem solving. Software currently used is Microsoft Office, Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop.

CMP 465: Senior Computer Applications Internship (3-6)
Prerequisite: Pre- or corequisite: CMP 375 or approval of instructor.
A protracted field experience offering theory-practice opportunity within the student’s discipline. Course requires at least 8 hours field work per week per three credit hours, plus a one-hour weekly seminar.
