FIN 295: Introductory Topics in Finance (1)

Prerequisite: to be determined by the Division of Business and Management. An introductory study of a specific topic within finance. Intended for freshmen and sophomores, or for students with little or no background in finance. The student may repeat the course, but not the topic. (Offered as needed.) (1-3)

FIN 312: Financial Management (3)

Prerequisites: ACC 102, ECO 210, ECO 211. One college-level math course and a statistics course are highly recommended. An examination of the topics of traditional financial management, with an emphasis on working capital management, short-term financing, leverage, capital structure, and discounted cash flow techniques. (Offered every spring semester.) (3)

FIN 313: Financial Institutions (3)

Prerequisite: FIN 312. A study of the financial institutions of our society, such as banks, stock and bond markets, and the Federal Reserve. The function of financial intermediaries and regulatory agencies is covered, as well as portfolio and capital market theory. (Offered every even-year spring semester.) (3)

FIN 315: International Financial Management (3)

Prerequisites: ACC 102, FIN 312. This course involves the study of international financial markets including exchange rate determination, exchange rate risk management nd currency derivatives. The topics it will cover include: international taxation, trade agreements, and foreign investments. (Offered every odd fall semester.) (3)
