PE 101: Smallcraft (1)
Prerequisite: Pass the Keuka College swim test with a swimming certificate
Students will: learn and practice basic skills and safety for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboating and small motor crafts. Course will introduce students to the terminology, rules of waterways, equipment and the safe use of crafts on waterways. The course will be both theory and practice relative amount of each will vary depending on weather. The course will be taught for five hours per week for the first eight weeks of the fall semester. PE 116: Lifeguard Training (1)
Prerequisite:
This course covers material that allows a student to become certified by the American Red Cross in any of the following areas: lifeguarding, waterfront lifeguarding, first aid, CPR for the professional rescuer, and automated external defibrillator essentials.

Beginning through intermediate. This course covers all nine strokes, basic survival, and other water-related skills. Certification in Red Cross course based on individual’s

PE 140: Wellness (3)
Prerequisite:
The framework of the course includes both theory and activity components. In the theory focus, students are presented with an integrative and holistic approach to health issues and concerns. In the activity focus, students study a variety of aspects of fitness and exercise and participate in a fitness/exercise program of their choice and design. In addition, such techniques as yoga and self-defense are presented as augmenting activities. Furthermore, topics such as weight control and nutrition, stress management, and others leading to development of a positive self-image are included. This course provides instruction in the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a healthy, integrated lifestyle.

PE 220: Prevention, Care, Rehabilitation of Sport Injuirie (3)
Prerequisite: BIO 203, BIO 204.
Acquire knowledge and develop skills necessary in the understanding of how to prevent, care for, and rehabilitate common sports-related injuries. As part of the class, each student works in an athletic training practical setting while receiving the necessary theoretical background. (Offered as needed.)
