Organizational Communication at Keuka College
Keuka College's organizational communication major is designed to provide a career-oriented educational opportunity with a firm foundation in the liberal arts; a strong background in the cultural, historical, and aesthetic dimensions of English language and literature; and a current body of knowledge in the theory and practice of communication and business. The major prepares students for employment in a wide range of communication positions in the corporate and nonprofit sectors, and for admission to graduate programs.
Students majoring in organizational communication develop teamwork and leadership skills, appreciation for the use of the English language as a medium of communication, and an understanding of business and marketing principles. With these skills they will be able to identify problems and develop problem-solving strategies to meet organizations' internal and external communication needs. The program's emphasis on experiential learning and the required senior practicum give graduates the head start they need for success in a highly competitive job market.
