Pre-Professional Programs in the Sciences at Keuka College
As a Keuka student, you will have the option to pursue an emphasis in pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, or pre-veterinary in addition to your major field of study.
Since most graduate programs in these disciplines require a specific set of undergraduate courses instead of a prescribed undergraduate major, Keuka's program provides:
- A career- and science-oriented educational opportunity with a firm foundation in the liberal arts—something required by most graduate programs.
- A personalized set of courses designed by an adviser familiar with the requisite standardized tests and admission requirements for your target graduate school(s).
- The opportunity for detailed, hands-on exploration of your chosen career path.
What Sets Keuka Apart
- The trademark of a Keuka education is Field Period, our required internship program. Each year, you’ll gain at least 140 hours of experience in your chosen field.
- The Community Service Resource Center can help you find volunteer opportunities related to your chosen career path. Volunteer work is a great enhancement to graduate school applications.
- Small class sizes maximize your learning experience.
- Faculty members, not graduate assistants, teach all of our classes. Additionally, 100 percent of our full-time science faculty hold Ph.D.’s; their alma maters include Yale University, Pennsylvania State University, SUNY at Stony Brook, University of Maryland, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Louisville, and University of Oregon.
