Frequently Asked Questions

How do I qualify for ASAP?

To be admitted to the ASAP undergraduate program, you should have at least 60 semester hours of transferable college credit. Due to the interactive classroom environment, a student must be at least 25-years-old (except nursing), and have at least 2-3 years of prior work experience (except nursing). Adult students who do not meet these criteria may be accepted on a conditional basis. Please contact us to discuss your admission options, or view our admissions page for further details.

How is it possible to earn my undergraduate degree on an accelerated basis?

Each ASAP program is a sequence of courses scheduled over 3-6 semesters that result in 34-70 semester hours of credit. A total of 120 semester hours is required to earn your undergraduate degree at Keuka College. Depending upon your individual circumstances, you may require additional credits beyond the ASAP program requirements. Once you are enrolled as a student, an ASAP representative will be available to assist you in developing an appropriate action plan toward successful completion of the required additional credits.

What if I do not have enough transferable college credit to be accepted to ASAP?

Upon application to the program, an ASAP representative will complete a detailed preliminary evaluation of transfer credits. If you do not have enough credit to enter the program, we can offer guidance toward earning the additional credits required prior to acceptance.

What is the action research project and how will it benefit me?

The action research project (ARP) provides students with a model to systematically approach a complex problem, identify the causes and issues surrounding that problem, design a solution or intervention, and measure the results (or effectiveness of the intervention). Students write their ARP throughout the duration of the program, and present their unique findings at the culmination of the program. The ARP is a powerful tool to offer employers in today's workplace.

Where are your students employed?

Our students represent a cross section of both the private and public sectors. They are employed in the banking industry, health care professions, engineering, manufacturing, social services, and law enforcement. Admissions Counselors can help facilitate a meeting with our students so that you can learn about their backgrounds and experience in our program. Occassionally, student representatives attend the information sessions at our ASAP locations and are available to answer your questions.

What is a cohort?

Upon entering the program, students form a cohort--a class made up of 6-18 students who progress through the program sequence together. Students complete each class with the same group of people throughout the entirety of the program, allowing students to build a strong support network and share work and life experiences.

When do classes start and what are the class hours?

ASAP classes are scheduled to begin three times a year: January, May and September. A class or cohort of students (up to 18) remains together throughout the entire program. Classes meet one evening per week from 6 to 10 p.m., or another 4 hour block depending on the program.

Is Keuka College accredited?

Keuka College is accredited by the Middles States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The College is also chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. Keuka is one of the 17 colleges affiliated with American Baptist Churches USA.

Will I qualify for graduate school upon completion of this program?

The organizational management and criminal justice systems programs are accredited B.S. degrees. With the appropriate grade point average and the completion of any entrance exam requirement, admission to graduate school should not be an issue.
